Parish Ministries & Groups
We are very lucky in Cratloe to have so many people involved in our parish liturgy every weekend and in so many pastoral groups. These groups are open to anyone who is interested. Don't worry if you have never done something before. Training and support will be provided. If you would like to know more speak to the relevant contact person or Father Enright.
Ministers of the Word
More parishioners are invited to join our rota of readers. You can chose which rota you want to join: 7.30 Vigil Mass Saturdays, 10.00 or 11.30 Sunday Mass. We aim to have two readers for each Eucharist so they can share the responsibility. We read once in every six weeks and the rota is worked out well in advance.

Eucharistic Ministers
In its time of joy and rediscovery following Vatican II the Church welcomed lay people to share in the task of distributing the Eucharist to the Faithful. There can hardly be any greater honour. The rota is worked out in advance to suit everyone at a meeting about once every three months. Currently people are fulfilling their commitment about once every four weeks.

Music Ministry
Singers and musicians of all ages are welcome to the choir at the 11.30 am Eucharist every Sunday during the school term and also at the Christmas and Easter ceremonies. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evening from 7.00 to 8.00 in the School. We would love to hear more music at our other liturgies. Would you be willing to train as a Cantor to lead the congregation in singing? Would you be able to form a small folk group? All suggestions welcome as music really enhances the celebration of our liturgy.

Altar Servers
Boys and girls from 4th class to 6th class are invited to serve at the altar during our Eucharist. They can participate at whichever Mass they regularly attend. Children who live in the parish but go to school outside of the parish are very welcome.

Baptism Team
Working in pairs we meet parents and godparents at 7.30pm for a Baptism preparation meeting on the Monday evening before the Baptism. On the following Sunday at 12.30 we greet the families and help Father Enright in small practical ways during the Baptism. He appreciates this assistance as there can be up to four families present. It is lovely to be involved in such a joyful occasion for families. Currently each pair on the team takes care of one Baptism every three months. We all meet to review progress as a team twice a year. Contact: Noreen Ramsay: 061 357561
Liturgy Group
Our Liturgy group looks at the way that we worship together and tries to enhance that experience for everyone. We look at the way we celebrate our Sunday Mass, how we celebrate the different liturgical seasons of the Church's year, help with preparation of the Reconciliation service, the healing service, the exam Mass. This may mean creating liturgies for different groups such as children, teenagers, the sick. If you think you might like to see what is involved why not join the group for six months and find out what it is all about. Contact: Margaret Reilly: 061 357246
St Joseph's Young Priests' Society
A branch of this society was formed in Cratloe in 1999 and has around twelve members. We gather every 1st Friday of the month at 7.30 for an hour of Eucharistic adoration and follow this with our meeting. Our purpose is twofold: To promote vocation to the priesthood and religious life, and to assist financially with the education of students to the priesthood all over the world and secondly to promote the vocation of the laity, to foster a greater understanding and love of the Eucharist and to help members to be Christ's presence in every aspect of life.

Pastoral Council
Our Pastoral Council reformed in 2009 and is an active, enthusiastic group who work with Father Enright on the pastoral needs of our parish. Its aim is to encourage active participation and to increase the sense of welcome and belonging in our parish. Members commit to be involved from one to three years and meet once a month for 10 months of the year. One of its first projects was the development of the information folder for Cratloe parish! Pioneer Total Abstinence Association
The Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart consists of people who abstain from Alcoholic drink. It encourages devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as an aid to resisting the temptation of alcohol. Its members wear a pin with an image of the Sacred Heart to alert others not to offer them alcohol. Children who have made their Confirmation are encouraged to become Young Pioneers until they are at least eighteen years old. If you want to become a Pioneer or would like further information, Fr. Liam Enright P.P. is the Spiritual Director.
