New Members – Open meeting Thursday 27th September
Over the last three years an enthusiastic group have initiated a Pastoral Council in our parish. This group now step down at the end of their three year term and we need a fresh group to come forward to continue this work in our parish.
In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI said:
…concerning lay people. They must no longer be viewed as ‘collaborators’ of the clergy but truly recognised as ‘co-responsible’, for the Church’s being and action, thereby fostering the consolidation of a mature and committed laity.”
He encourages us to see ourselves as co –responsible for the life of our Church. Being a member of the Pastoral Council offers an opportunity to be invoved in thinking about, initiating and supporting new projects in our parish. The aim is to develop a vibrant faith community in Cratloe with as many people as possible involved. The experience of the first group has been very positive with good friendships made from working together.
If you think that you might be interested or just want to find out more, you are invited to an open meeting on Thursday 27th September at 8.00pm in the school. Three years is the maximum term but it is possible to commit for a minimum of one year. In experience the time goes by very quickly. Meetings are once a month from September to June and keep to time. Involvement in starting up new projects takes up as much or as little time as you want to give!
