Letter From Parish Priest
Dear Parishioners,
I wish to say hello to all the people of Cratloe in this 'Parish Information Pack' which I hope you will find useful. It is one of the projects undertaken by the recently formed Pastoral Council for Cratloe. I extend this greeting particularly to the many newcomers to the parish these past few years. I hope you are settling in well and that this Pack will be of use to you and help to make you feel welcome.
The witness of a Parish lies in the quality of the Christian lives of its members in the family, in the community and in society. There is a need for the visible public participation by the parish in the organised activities of the local community. A Parish Open Day being organised for September 2010 by the Pastoral Council will help us all to realise how vibrant Cratloe is. We are a Christian Community called to work in partnership with others who are serving the needs and interests of the community. In this the parish should be guided by the values of the Kingdom of God - values of truth, justice, love and peace.
The Pastoral Council is well placed to establish formal connections with local groups and associations. There is much happening here for those who want to become involved. We hope that the Information Pack relating to the various organisations and Church groups will be of help to you and that you might be encouraged to join one or more of them during the Parish Open Day.
I wish to assure you that you are always welcome to St. John's Church, Cratloe and the Little Church, Sixmilebridge. I hope that the experience of everyone in the parish, new and old will be a happy one. May the good Lord look after, protect and bless you and yours and in return may we all care for one another.
